Phenomenal controller! I’ve had mine since it launched, and it plays great for super smash bros. I actually bought two, one for my brother who plays competitively and one for myself. I have pretty much adopted it as my main Switch controller. The joysticks feel great, and the controller is very responsive. I did have an issue with it not connecting to the Switch 2 at all, but after very little research, I found that there is a firmware update on the main page. After I connected the controller to the PC and updated the controller, it synced up immediately to the Switch 2 with zero issues. Works great with the Gamecube Virtual Console games on the Switch Online! Highly recommend, 5 out of 5 stars
It’s one of the best modernization of the GC controller yet!
I have bought one a while ago, and… it’s just what I needed, as I prefer how the GC buttons are and how the analog buttons/sticks works.
Like a comment below said though, please ensure that you Dolphin Emulator settings are adjusted to benefit of the aforementioned controls.
Stellar work by the way!
This is my second GC Pro controller and I love the versatility of it. I use it the wireless dongle on my gamecube and have used it on my switch and PC. I can recommend to folks to use steam for faster calibration and connection for PC. The Glacier though is so pretty matches my other controllers.
I used this Controller for half a year now, mostly for Smash Ultimate on my switch but I used it for mostly every game there as well.
The Controller works great after you getting used to it.
It’s not like the Og Gamecube experience, which you will notice as soon as you switch back to a gc controller.
Still the experience is greater as if you use a gc controller
Also the Gc Dongle is an awesome feature since I modded my wiiu recently and can use it there as well
Downsides on this one:
-The left stick gets used a lot and you will notice this but that’s the case at every controller you use this much like I do
-The Trigger buttons on the downside got a really weird interaction if you bind a jumping button on it. Most of the time you will do a short hop and can’t controll the way you are jumping, so it’s up only with a little adjustment
-the biggest flaw in my opinion is the off button on the backside. I hit that stuff at like every 20 match and just can’t remember to keep my hands of it 😂
After all the controller ist awesome and I would buy it again anytime
Make sure to download the latest firmware and use the Home+B macro to enable the digital triggers for the ideal GameCube trigger emulation experience while using Dolphin so the when the triggers ‘click’ you get a separate input from the handful of games that properly make use of that underrated functionality. (Remember to disable this macro when appropriate as most none GameCube games will not benefit from the trigger click registering as L3 and R3.)
Sticks are better than the original while still feeling like the original including proper octagonal housing and correct stick cap shape and texture, same with the larger clickier D-pad, and face buttons feel identical to the original. It is the only third party controller I’ve seen replicate the GameCube triggers. Though is fully functional for any game where you can use an Xbox controller, fully functional on the GameCube, Wii, Wii U(Via Gamecube adaptor), and Switch.
