I have the Crystal Color and I love it. The buttons and sticks feel great, love the response and overall a great quality controller. When I take it over friends/family house to play Smash Bros or Rivals of Aether everyone loves the way it looks and responds. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because of 2 flaws when I hold my controller. At first I thought it was an input thing but I literally had to change how I hold my controller, which I still revert back to holding like a GC controller. #1 The face of the controller is at a sharper angle, so sometimes I try to do any forward tilt, smash, or dash and I do a downward action instead. I’m pretty sure its the part of the controller that sits in the palm. #2 The way I grip the controller I have shut off my controller in the middle of heated matches. Overall I love my controller and I use it everyday but because of my 2 flaws stated I wouldn’t take the chance using the controller in a tournament.
Took forever for me to get it, but it wasn’t fault of RetroFighters.
The wait was Completely worth it! It takes a bit of time to get used to it, but once you do, you can tell this is a Premium Quality controller! The sticks works even better than any of their controllers, it’s super responsive in Bluetooth and Wired, tho I’m having some Latency with Wii U Adapter to USB. The D-Pad went from rigid and annoying on OEM to Absolute Perfection for this controller, got really surprised about that, pleasantly so.
For both Switch and PC, this controller is absolutely amazing, a MUST have for all GameCube fans and players!
had an issue with pairing and inputs on my battler pro controller. robert was helpful and walked me through troubleshooting to get it fixed. i’m happy to own and be using multiple controller from retro fighters !
I was looking for a quality controller that would last me a long time. Most 3rd party GCCs always felt cheap or off, but that isnt the case for this!
My main gripes with it were mostly personal, it likely won’t be an issue for other people due to how I hold the thing
When playing platform fighters, my finger was getting pinched by the trigger when I pressed down. I also accidentally pressed the back flipper pads quite often, but not a huge deal since I don’t have them assigned to anything. They’re nice to have in other games that don’t require alot of fast inputs.
Cstick was a little far away as well, but I also have really small hands, and it hasn’t been too much of an issue.
As a whole all the buttons feel really nice and the sticks were both great compared to my old GCC, which has alot of snapback at this point. Triggers feel reeeeally nice and responsive, and have a good click to them. In general I’d say it feels closest to a switch pro controller just with GC face layout & octo gate, which is awesome!
Even tho I dont use it for rivals anymore, it’s my go to controller for literally anything else right now, esp anything on my switch
I might do a touch of modding to it so I can add a little grip to the back, if I can fix the finger pinching i would greatly prefer it to my GCC for platform fighters. Or maybe I’ll just try to change up my grip haha.
Really quality controller, nice work folks!
Works perfectly and has very responsive joysticks!
